This crayfish can reach 6 inches or larger as they grow continually throughout their lives. Shipping size will be roughly 3 inches. These crayfish make perfect pets, often greeting you on sight. Will happily train to handfed treats. The striking Tangerine Orange color against a bright white background creates a beautiful crayfish that you can enjoy keeping. These crayfish are born almost entirely white and grow more Tangerine color with each molt as they grow. At current age, the crayfish are roughly 50/50 Tangerine and White. I personally keep these crayfish with Guppy, Molly, Platy, Angelfish, Corydoras and shrimp. I have witnessed no evidence of predation on these, only seeing them eat dead or dying fish. Kept well fed, they are generally well behaved. (I feed them Tetra Tropical Granules) Crayfish of this size will dig up substate and move it around to their liking. They have been known to eat or destroy plants, but not always. I do not recommend them for heavily planted tanks that you have spent money and effort creating. Often it will happen soon after arriving in a new tank. Do not be alarmed. During this process, the crayfish may struggle, even appear lifeless as it rests between attempts to complete the job. Some molts are not successful and eventually result in death. Sometimes the process just takes longer. Please do not discard any "lifeless" crayfish prematurely. Put the lifeless body in a small bowl of aquarium water and leave it for at least 24 hours before declaring it dead. You would be surprised the number of "resurrections" I have witnessed.
