Any dead/dying leaves will be removed prior to shipping. Suitable for experienced growers of North American carnivorous plants with awareness of their active and dormancy growth cycles. This charming form of the sweet pitcher plant produces compact lime-yellow and copper colored pitchers, complimented by intricate red venation. Its hoods slightly flare up at the edges and have a pointed tip. This form has a nice clumping growth habit and looks particularly impressive in colonies. Mature plants grow between 6 to 7 inches high and produce red/lime yellow colored flowers. Plants for sale are healthy, medium/small sized rhizome divisions and will be shipped bare root (no pot, no soil). Plants are herbaceous perennials, with active growth typically occurring during spring, summer, and fall seasons. Pictures in advertisement are representative of how plants appear when in active growth. PLEASE NOTE: Plants purchased during dormancy period (generally October to March) will have little to no leaves. It is they buyer’s responsibility to be aware of their local weather conditions that may affect the timely and safe delivery of their order. Though sarracenia are generally safe to ship throughout winter and can withstand frosts of 20 degrees Fahrenheit with minimal protection, I can delay shipment at your request until you experience more favorable weather conditions. Upon receipt, plant rhizome in media that does not contain any fertilizers. A mix of 50% peat moss and 50% perlite is the generally acceptable standard for many carnivorous plants. Keep media constantly moist, setting the plant in small amounts of low mineral/mineral free water such as rain, distilled, or reverse osmosis water. Promote strong and healthy leaf growth by giving plant full outdoor sun exposure, with 6 or more hours of direct sunlight daily. This item is available for local pickup as a potted plant. If buyer selects this option, seller will coordinate pickup with buyer within the city of West Covina or Covina. Seller determines the final pickup location. Pickup days/timeframes are negotiable, though be aware that weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) between 11am and 4pm are the typical times seller is available. Seller may also need between 1 to 3 business days to schedule pickup after purchase is made.
