Description: Here is an excellent Private Mailing Card authorized by Act of Congress May 19, 1898 with the caption “LITTLE HUNGARY". There are three photos showing the Private Party Cellar, the Old Cellar and A Cozy Nook at 255-263 E.Houston Street, New York City. The card and photos are clean, clear and detailed. The card has sharp corners. The undivided unposted back is very clean. This card is a little smaller than later post cards. A century ago Little Hungary was one of the most famous restaurants in NYC, situated along what was once known as “Goulash Row.”Teddy Roosevelt often dined there as police commissioner and made a promise to return if elected president. Keeping his word, Little Hungary made the national news and thereafter became a popular tourist destination. Buyer will pay $3.85 postage to anywhere in the United States. Canadian postage is $2.65 European postage is $5.25. Paypal is an acceptable payment option. I am always happy to combine shipping costs so please check out my other auctions and good luck.
