Description: Up for sale is a Kitchenaid KSM90 “Ultra Power” tilt head stand mixer with 4.5QT mixing bowl and (2) attachments. The ultra power mixers have a 300 watt rating which is quite a bit more than a standard which is around 200-240 watts. It comes with a wire whisk, paddle attachment and a 4.5 mixing bowl with handle. Its production date is late 80s to early 90s which puts it in the transition era when Hobart sold the line to Whirlpool. The gearbox is all metal with no visible damage so it’ll easily last another 30 years before needing service. Physically the mixer has some nicks and scuffs from use but overall the white finish is shiny and presents well. The aluminum beauty band also is in great shape with minor signs of wear. The mixer was really dirty when found and was suffering from slow speeds due sticky grease in the gearbox. This slows down the mixer and it also needed a speed/RPM calibration. To complete the service, the mixer was disassembled and all of the old, stinky brown grease that resembles peanut butter was scooped out and replaced with a food safe grease from Super Lube lubricants. As it was reassembled, each part was cleaned/polished before final assembly. I also replaced the missing speed control knob and adjusted the depth of the mixer attachment in the bowl so it doesn’t miss anything at the very bottom. To correct the speed issue, the speed control plate was loosened then adjusted to factory spec. Once correct, it was locked back down which will prevent “drifting” over years of use.
