Description: An original photograph signed and inscribed by Johnny Weissmuller famed as portraying Edgar Rice Burroughs creation Tarzan of The Apes A 5x7 black and white photograph on heavy paper stock inscribed as follows: “Sincerely Yours Johnny “Tarzan” Weissmuller” The photograph is in very good condition as shown. The left white margin on the photo was trimmed by a former owner and there is evidence of hinge mounting at the top edge and bottom corner with no loss to the photograph paper surfaces. The photograph will come framed in archival rag board (100% acid neutralized) framed in wood with plexiglass and the verso has a dust cover with wire ready to display. I’ve taken the photo out of the frame and shown the front and verso and matting. I’ve had this photograph in my collection for over thirty years when I was assembling multiple Burroughs collections for customers. I came across various Burroughs and Tarzan items as well as books. The inscription is authentic as is the photograph dating from the 1940’s. It is not a pre-print.
