Industrial 1970's Vintage Tilley Lamp, Retro Unique Edison Mancave Camping Green

Description: This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning piece of art. The starting piece for this lamp was a 1970's Tilley X246B paraffin lantern. We gave it a light restoration during which we cleaned up all of the brass and steel parts. To prevent the need for further polishing we sealed all of the metal parts with 3 coats of clear lacquer. There are some minor some dents in the fuel tank but these just add to the character. The top dome was in very poor condition so we gave it a full restoration. This including stripping the remaining paint back to bare metal. It was then professionally powder coated in Vintage Green . It now looks magnificent !! The glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The bulb is retained inside it nicely. In fact, after the conversion you would never know it wasn't always meant to be an electric lamp. The centre of the lamp has been adapted by us to accept an antique style light fitting with an black gloss finish. This was professionally wired with period correct braided 3 core vintage cable. The cable is a generous 1.2 metres long and is fitted with a 3 pin fused plug and inline switch. The lamp is fully earthed for electrical safety. To put the finishing touches to the light we have used a smoked E27 screw fitting Edison Radio Tube style Light Bulb (included). This gives a beautiful soft white light and the filament is clearly visible when its turned on. When lit the light looks amazing, casting great shadows as the light bulb glows through the lamp glass. The photos really don't do it any justice at all. The light is very versatile and can either be used on a side table or it can be hung from its carrying handle. This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!
