Description: Beautiful, LMB HO gauge brass, custom painted & weathered, NYC 2-8-2 H10b Mikado #2095 with Kadee Couplers. This engine is equipped with Pacific Fast Mail (PFM) sound and lights headlight, and firebox light. The PFM Mark II sound system was centralized, using chips to simulate all steam engine sounds that could be manipulated on the power pack. A module in either the engine or tender allowed for sound and use of 1.5-volt bulbs. Chuffing was provided by a capacitor and a wiper wire on an insulated drive wheel with bare notch quartered on the rim. While this PFM and the PBL systems worked beautifully, and some molders still use it, the centralized system that sent various sounds to any engine, has transitioned to decentralized sound systems using a decoder in every engine. This engine while equipped for PFM or PBL sound systems will absolutely operate on straight DC current and for the lights. If stray speaker sounds could be heard, one wire can be disconnected from the speaker. I did not do that for this engine due to the likelihood that a buyer may want to install a decoder and use the present speaker and light bulbs. The 1.5v bulbs can be hooked to decoder outputs with a 1/4-watt tiny resistor, depending on the output being 5 or 12 volts. I will enclose the PFM wiring info and means to calculate resistors for the 1.5 v bulbs and other tips, so the buyer is fully informed about the current engine wiring. The engine was tested and runs fine and had only a few hours run time The engine will be shipped USPS Ground Advantage, insured for $100.
