Description: This 3-volume set is a fascinating history of Seattle from its founding up to 1916. They go into minute detail on every subject of the building of the city and of the people involved in a very interesting storytelling style illustrated with a large number of full-page photo plates. The pages in all of the volumes are printed on thicker than normal paper and the pages are in very good condition with no tears, stains, or warping. The spines are all tight and the edges of the pages have attractive green marbling. Each of the volumes have a nameplate on the inside of the front cover that were applied over someone's signature. Volume 1 has 454 pages and has had some careful use. It has a few very minor issues. There are small tears on the top and the bottom of the cover spine along with minor shelf wear on the covers. Three of the photo plates are disconnected from the spine. And three of the pages have pencil writing in the margins. Volume 2 has 427 pages and appears to have had very little use. Its only issues are minor shelf wear on the covers and the spine and one of the photo plates is disconnected from the spine. Volume 3 has 1153 pages and appears to have had the least use of any of the volumes. Its only issue is minor shelf wear on the covers and the spine. My photos show the actual volumes that you will receive. You will be hard pressed to find this scarce set in any better condition than these.
