Description: Featured in this auction is a magnificent, antique cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, even overall crazing, and no repairs. There is light peppering in the glaze along with small glaze pops and pinholes. This piece is 5" tall, 3" wide at the shoulder, and 2" wide at the top rim. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2109 and the production year XVI (1916). Stilt marks are visible on the base. This ovoid-shaped vase features a flared rim and a geometric arts-and-crafts motif that encircles the shoulder. This gorgeous glaze is a rich, matte yellow ochre underglaze with a very pale green overspray. The piece shows very minimal wear from gentle use; however, the extensive crazing in the glaze gives the piece real character. The crazing is all in the glaze. The vase is watertight and otherwise very clean. Check out all 10 photos! This stunning vase exhibits great Mission design and would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet. It would also be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings! I am offering FREE SHIPPING for this item within U.S. only.
