Description: 21-3/4” Northern Pike carving mounted on driftwood base. The entire display is 24” tall. I carved this fish from a properly dried chunk of basswood (fins are carved from the same piece of wood also). I then sealed it with a wood sealer, painted it with acrylics, and applied a few layers of clear coat. Both sides of the fish are carved and finished just the same. The driftwood and cattails are sealed with a fungicidal sealer and also clear coated. The cattails are also sealed with Mod Podge, to protect against puffing up or falling apart since they are real and not faux. The eyes are made from wooden dowels and a solid clear epoxy that will not yellow over time. The teeth are made from a fiberglass resin and filler mixture (they are very solid and sharp). ** Please, contact me if you are interested in this fish carving and have any questions!
