GORGEOUS 1936 SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT 221 SEWING MACHINE & VERY RARE VENTED PEDAL

Description: Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous 1936 Singer Featherweight 221 sewing machine. This beautiful 1936 Featherweight has been fully serviced, adjusted and tested. This Featherweight has the front mount extended transitional bobbin winder tension guide on it. This also comes with the very rare slotted bakelite motor controller (foot pedal) which corresponds to 1936 Featherweights only. CONDITION NOTES: She sounds heavenly and sews an absolutely beautiful stitch! This machine was well taken care of. She has some wear though: pin marks, decal wear, scratches & scuffs throughout, please review all of the pictures, they tell the story. The paint is still dark black & very shiny. This is a very beautiful example of a vintage 1936 Singer Featherweight sewing machine!The gold decals are in nice vintage condition with some wear from usage over the years.The vintage original Singer Featherweight carrying case is in excellent vintage condition and the exterior was cleaned up and polished and is a very nice black color! The carrying case has scratches, rips and wear and tear from usage over the years but is still very sturdy. Both carrying case locks function as they should. There is no stinky foul odor on this case.The vintage original slotted Singer foot pedal was cleaned, adjusted and tested and is ready to go to work for you! The vintage original Singer foot pedal wires are still in great shape!A crack on the bottom of the foot pedal was repaired with 2 part epoxy and is now very sturdy, see picture.The Singer Featherweight 221 owners manual is a brand new replica from The Featherweight Shop!The green Singer cardboard accessory box has wear & tear on it but is still sturdy.The vintage style motor belt is in nice vintage condition and still very sturdy with lots of life left.Comes with everything you see in the pictures. Motor pulley was removed to check for thread jams, any thread was removed and pulley was reinstalled The entire hook assembly was removed, taken apart and ultrasonic deep cleaned, lubricated and reinstalled. Bobbin case base part #45926 was removed, any thread jams were cleared, area was cleaned and base was reinstalled. Sewing machine timing was checked and adjusted, if needed. Presser foot height was checked and adjusted, if needed. All chrome pieces were ultrasonic cleaned Machine was deep cleaned & old grease was removed New tri-flow oil and sew retro grease were applied to all applicable areas The motor was removed & opened up for inspection & cleaning Motor commutator was cleaned Motor carbon brushes were checked & cleaned Motor grease ports were cleaned and filled with new sew retro grease The grease ports were heated up to ensure that the sew retro grease melted & lubricated the grease wicks Braided wiring on the motor leads were reinforced with waterproof heat shrink tubing, if necessary Upper tension assembly was removed, cleaned, reinstalled, adjusted and tested.
