Description: GENESIS Selling England By The Pound hails from 2023 and is a SEALED limited edition LP issued on Crystal Clear Diamond vinyl for the Start Your Ear Off Right campaign. 1973's Selling England by the Pound grew the band's popularity and found their inventive storytelling and arrangements coming into sharper focus on tracks including "The Cinema Show," "Firth of Fifth," and their first U.K. hit single, "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)." Released in 1973 (the same year as their "Live" set), Genesis was by now one of the fastest rising groups on the pop scene. The band's blend of classical instinct, theatrical presentation, and whimsical, complex and daring arrangements put them in the same class as Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull as leaders of the British Progressive Rock era. Back in the studio where they could continue to experiment, the resulting "Selling England by the Pound" is considered by some to be equal to their masterpiece "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway." This is truly a group effort and a great album of the 70's! In shades of things to come, drummer Phil Collins makes his vocal debut here on "More Fool Me." Side One:1. Dancing with the Moonlit Knight2. I Know What I Like (In your Wardrobe)3. Firth of Fifth4. More Fool Me Side Two:1. The Battle of Epping Forest2. After the Ordeal3. The Cinema Show 4. Aisle of Plenty
