Description: This is a complete set of all 3 pieces, the base with Shepard Hardware Co. Buffalo, N. Y. and the last line showing Patented Dec. 17, 1878. The center plate and the roller. It may be hard to see the center of the roller which has: PATD 1880 center of handle between die cut holes. This is a heavy cast iron set and has an early cast iron handle. Newer ones have a wood handle as earlier handles of cast iron may have gotten hot while using. Overall size is roughly 6 inches long, 3 and a quarter inches wide and 4 and 1/2 inches tall. This very ornate fluter is heavy and weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces. It is in very nice condition and has a trace of rust due to age and appears very clean and works beautifully.
