Description: This is a very nice pair, or near pair, of solid brass and cast candlesticks from the first half of the 18th century. The candlesticks have plain cylindrical stems with square knops that have square bases with central depressions that act as drip catchers. The columns are attached to the bases with the original nuts attached to threaded stems. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs. They sit pretty, though not perfectly, flat and straight. Wear appropriate to age and use is visible and there may be remnants of wax as well. Dimensions:7 7/8", and 7 1/2" Bases is about 4 3/8" and 4 1/4" across parallel sides
