The back is made of a single piece of faintly flamed maple. The ribs , neck, and scroll are made of the same wood, and original to the instrument. The varnish is amber-brown , on a golden ground. The violin is in good condition with some important wear on the right edge near the f hole, showing it has been intensively played, which is always a good indication of a violins quality. the violin was made based on the Stainer model. On the neck can be found a stamp in the form of a star. We do not know who used this stamp. Under the button, a pevious owner engraved his family name, ( Baumgartner ) Violin has just been fully setup and checked.
