This model is equipped with Yosemite(TM) single-coil pickups, which were specially developed for the American Performer series and produce a rich, expressive tone. The Yosemite (TM) pickups have staggered pole pieces with no chamfers for high output, and the pickups are potted with shellac solution to suppress feedback and produce a dynamic sound. The American Performer Stratocaster also features a Greasebucket(TM) tone circuit that attenuates the low frequencies when the tone is turned down, preventing the sound from becoming muddy. In addition, it is equipped with a push/pull control that activates the neck pickup in all switch positions, allowing you to expand the range of tones. The Modern C-shaped neck with a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard is equipped with 22 jumbo frets for smooth and accurate bending.
