Description: This is a remarkable EAPG amber compote in the pattern known as Tree of Live with Hand produced by Hobbs, Brockunier & Company circa 1879. There were two different compotes made, this one with the elegant had and just a plain one. This piece is in excellent condition with no scratches, nicks, chips, cracks or sickness. There are some inclusion small inclusion bubbles, a straw mark on the base (black arrow in picture) and a small one inside the compote bowl from the manufacturing process common to that time frame when producing EAPG. This definitely was a cabinet piece as it show no use wear to the piece, even the bottom is clean and also show no wear. This literally looks like it just came from the showroom, even though this piece is approximately 145 years old. It is also a very heavy piece weighing 4lbs 8 ounces without packing materials and is approximately 10.00 inches tall and the top is 10.00 inches in diameter. This is like a holy grail piece because of the condition it is in.
