Description: Absolutely stunning vintage, very rare Ernest Borel Compressor gold plaque/stainless steel back waterproof type case driven by a clean pristine AS 1624 automatic movement featuring a magnificent pearl finish dress dial. 1263 Every effort has been made to show all possible detail with photographs. All photos are of actual watch in auction. MOVEMENT: Clean pristine rose gilt A Schilds AS 1624 full rotor automatic movement is signed" : " Ernest Borel, seventeen 17 jewels, Swiss, KXB, AS 1624." Movement is clean and runs well, however has not been bench tested for precise accuracy or recently serviced. CASE: Clean, round gold plaque/stainless steel back Compressor waterproof type case measures 35.06 mm in diameter without recessed crown, 44.25 mm lug tip to tip, and 18 mm between lugs. Case back interior is signed "Ernest Borel & Co. S.A., Swiss Made, 4-58, Swiss Casf, EPSA, (with hard hat diver's hat). Please note the signature EPSA, the source of this watch's rarity, stands for the manufacturer Ervin Piquerez S.A., the designer and patent holder of the Super Compressor waterproof type case. Please note this is a vintage watch and has probably NOT been tested for water tightness, it is however a true Compressor case. Bezel is signed: "EPSA plaque 620". Case back is signed: "Compressor, stainless steel back, brevet +, 313813, 666107, 366239S, waterproof (with hard hat diver logo)." Crystal is pristine. Please note case shows very light wear, no wear through (see photos). DIAL: Stunning understated pearl finish dress dial features beautiful raised markers at hours, radium dauphine hour and minute hands, sweep second hand. Dial is signed: "Ernest Borel, Automatic, Swiss." BAND: Fitted with quality brown stitched padded Norwegian calf band signed Norwegian calf, JB Champion.
