Description: Dunhill La Traviata Erte. Playing Cards and Box. A beautifully illustrated double deck set of cards from Dunhill, depicting scenes and characters from the famous Verdi Opera, La Traviata designed by Erte. Each suit is based upon a particular scene from the opera, Hearts-Act I, Diamonds-Act II Scene I, Clubs-Act II Scene II and Spades-Act III. Included with decks is an insert that describes what is depicted on each card. Both decks contain 52 cards, 2 Jokers and an additional card to announces the deck. The cards are slightly wider measuring 3.5" x 2.5"(89mm x 64mm) and have gold gilt around. Cards are housed in a leather box with ribbons to assist removing the cards. The exterior of the box also has gold detailing.The cards are in mint condition, the box and paper are in very good condition, there is a minor age-related wear on the leather exterior(bottom corner, right front).
