Bloom season is in the summer time and the plant grows lush green vegetation between 4 and 5 feet in height. Cannas are great wildlife attractants for bees and hummingbirds. They are also deer resistant and tolerate humidity well. Canna lilies are rhizomes and propagate with tubular rhizome growth via division offsets. Cannas can be grown in containers at least 3 gallons or larger, but need excellent drainage in pots to mitigate against rhizome rot which can occur in boggy overly moist soil.
