Description: Antique Burmese kalat lacquered offering tray, Shan States, Inle Lake, circa 1920. Assembled from wood and rattan covered in red, orange and black lacquer. A simple circular form with 11 turned spindle uprights and broad rimed woven tray with dynamic hooked spiral pattern in two rings rendered in black on a red ground. The underside with some unique markings in red on the orange ground. Minor cracks to the lacquer surface and normal signs of wear otherwise fine condition. 10.25 inches high x 20 inches in diameter (26 x 51cm). 4.6 lbs. (2086g.)
