Description: Listing is for an unused new (from old stock) cream colored agate guide often used for the stripper guide when building or repairing bamboo vintage fly rods. This is a vintage unused, never mounted item - NOT something salvaged from an old rod. Sometimes this color is referred to as light amber of white. Please check the photos- this is an unusual and beautiful color for an agate guide. There are 9 photos with half of those showing the dimensions. The inside diameter of the ring is 8MM. The agate is set in a nickel silver metal ring. The top of the guide would sit about 17mm above the rod when installed. I would say it dates from the 1930s or 40s based on the other bamboo vintage rods and rod building items that were found with it. Thanks for looking.
