Description: Stunning Brass Apothecary or Candy Scale. I have seen this beautiful antique scale listed as being from either France or the Tuscany region of Italy. Every detail is so beautifully made from the chains holding the tray to the scrolling of the metal parts. This European antique scale stands19-1/2" tall, 20" wide from the edge of the bowl to the upright arm, and the bowl is about 10" across suspended from three decorative chains and the base is about 6.5" across. There is one attached counter balance weight and one smaller unattached weight. This scale is very substantial and heavy. Wonderful condition. The only condition issue is some discoloration to the brass finish. This scale would most likely polish up nicely if that is the desired look.
