Description: Artisan (me) OOAK 5-Strand Necklace...Mixed Bead Organic Modern Memphis Inspired Design Obsidian, glass, trade beads, metal, sterling. Soooo....I used to make jewelry. Looooong ago. Worked at a fantastic bead shop some of that time too. Then life happened. Recently got my old creations out and thought: Hey, these are pretty good! So what the heck... This 5-Strander is inspired by the Memphis movement....Beads chosen for their geometric shapes in primary colors, and set against the black of the obsidian for drama.The bead shapes are very structured and specific, so I used organic shaped obsidian for contrast. For in-betweens I used both tiny silver beads (I think maybe aluminum? They have not tarnished in all this time) and also short black glass tube shapes which are faceted so they catch the light.The two spacers (that spread out the strands) and the clasp are sterling, nice and shiny in person (photo didn't convey that.) I hope you'll notice the thought process behind placement of every single bead! Shortest strand is @18" including clasp. Longest strand is @24" including clasp. Thanks for looking :)
