Description: Antique Art Deco Slip Shade CHANDELIER-Globe Lighting Mfg. Co Slip Shades Antique Slip Shade Chandelier 5 Light Socket Chandelier 5 Shades This is the creme de la creme of slip shade chandeliers manufactured by Globe Lighting Mfg. Co. of Brooklyn NY, (see last photo for original catalog sample which was included as part of suite) - with Gorgeous Slip Shades. I stand corrected originally believing the manufacturer to have been Lightolier and have since been corrected. One of a kind! Dating to the 1920's - 1930s and completely original it is in outstanding condition. The bronze coppery color frame with golden highlights has a wonderful clean patina and the frosted satin embossed slip shades are intact and in great shape, a warm honey color. There are five lights around the perimeter which also serve to cast light on the bottom, this is very rare in that the shades themselves are created to provide a lower level or/ lower shelf, (glass on the bottom), appearing as though there are 10 shades. The frame has a bronze finish. The metal is in excellent antique condition. Some minor wear, little finish loss, but certainly not enough to warrant a restoration, I prefer keeping my lighting as original as possible. The slip shades are in excellent condition aside from age related wear. None of which is significant, when hung no one would notice. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs, just a note and I don't think anyone would notice it, I think theoriginal owner may have gotten some paint on one of the metal bracket arms, when painting the room and touched it up so on close inspection it appears slightly lighter in color, I show each arm/bracket in the photos it is hard to ascertain and barely noticed. The wiring is old and original and should be checked and/or replaced by a professional.I can provide this service with my lighting specialist who charges about $75.00 I have since purchased new cardboard insulators (paper socket shells) around the sockets, (not shown in the photos) I personally have found that old sockets are better than the new ones made in China, I may have this rewired shortly. The light fixture will take standard bulbs, but small size bulbs or candle shape bulbs fit best. The dimensions of the chandelier are as follows: Widest: 17" Frame width with shades: Drop 22" PLUS original canopy. Great vintage fixture, that will be a fine addition to your home.Canopy-3" tall, 5 5/8 wide. Please message me with any questions. Thank you for looking. Visit My eBay Store: caycat52 Just about every lamp and/or lighting fixture that I sell at one time has been in use, they were manufactured for use in extreme conditions and subject to heavy use, these lights have survived! They have already proven their ability to stand the test of time......this is a measure you simply will not find in ANY new light fixture made today. Cherished Hunts Antiques carries the originals of what others copy today. Vintage light fixtures increase in value as the supply is diminished. I try to give the best quality and best service possible. As being objects of great beauty they have proved to be a very sound investment in the past and I am sure they will continue to do so, I have yet to receive any complaint about my delivery. I have many years experience in sending fragile goods through the post and take pride in my packing, my treasures arrive in the same condition they left me. Shipping fee represents the size and fragile nature of the lamp, sometimes in 2 boxes plus insurance. Flat rate, if stated shipping represents the 48 contiguous states. To reduce ship cost contact me if available based on your location I can revise for lower ship rate with FedEx, message me prior to check out. I will gladly accept a return if I have misrepresented something, I want my clients to be happy with their purchases. My return policy applies to items that have significant, sizable, meaningful and blaring issues of condition that I failed to disclose in my ad. Superficial wear of blemishes incurred over a long period of time, which one would be expected to find does not meet the conditions of the return policy. Please review photos for a determination of condition also. Buy purchasing this item you understand and acknowledge that a 100 year old antique item such as this will have wear and possibly minor basic issues, they are far too difficult, costly and time consuming to pack. I never charge for packing materials or for my time for packing (which is considerable when packing antique lamps & china). I cannot afford to pay for shipping because a buyer may be difficult and/or change their mind so please consider my complete description along with photos, and ask questions if need be. Thank you for your consideration. Thank you for your consideration.-Antiques are not new and may show variable wear, defects, restorations, replacement parts, imperfections, distress, and or repairs.
