Description: Anxiety by Dr Michael Catchpole Written for both professionals and lay-people, this resource explains the difference in treatment that one should apply to anxiety-related disorders, rather than to a dysfunctional or diseased brain. FORMAT Paperback LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Publisher Description Written for both professionals and lay-people, this book explains the difference in treatment that one should apply to anxiety-related disorders, rather than to a dysfunctional or diseased brain. Employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles, Dr. Catchpole leads the reader through proven, clearly explained steps to conquer anxiety. "As a medical specialist one often sees patients with somatic symptoms for whom one suspects there is no physical explanation. After organic pathology has been ruled out, they are returned to the referral source in the hope that the reassurance of negative investigations will suffice. This is not always the case, however, and I suspect that a great many of these unfortunate patients are manifesting signs of an underlying anxiety disorder. Dr. Catchpole in this book gives a step-by-step approach to anxiety disorders which will be of great value to physician and patient alike in tackling this difficult and frustrating situation. The book is written in an easy-to-understand conversational style and clearly makes the case for a psychological rather than pharmacological approach to the management of anxiety. Strongly recommended!": Dr. Gordon McLauchlan Author Biography Dr. Michael Catchpole has been involved in the international distribution of evidence-based psychological knowledge for 40 years and continues to be unwaveringly active in this process.
