Antique Vintage Wood Shaft MacGregor Gunmetal Flanged Sole Putter D8 SW

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 34 1/2" wood shaft putter. Made by MacGregor and it is an earlier one with J MacGregor on the back. Made of gunmetal/soft brass with a smooth face. The head is in good condition. Yes, it has the expected play nicks and dings but is not damaged. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old original MacGregor marked hickory. The shaft is straight, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. The grip is a newer long leather wrap that is in fair playable condition. A nice heavy D 8 swingweight for play. If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. Always re-set heads prior to play if it hasn't already been done. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
