Description: An Antique brass Candlestick Spring Balance Postal Letter Scale by RW Winfield of Birmingham. In expected used condition for an item of this age. The spring is working and yet is starting on 1oz rather than 0. The top is slightly uneven. The measure does move down when items are placed on it. Approximately 6" tall. The base has a pretty, flirlly, whirly design & the middle part feels lovely and smooth to touch. The top and upper part are milled. 0 to 4 oz (ounces) on one side &0 to 8 D (pre decimal pence) on the other side. Used by family believed for its business. A lovely piece of postal and UK history.
