Description: Antique Royal Worcester Jar Description and Item Information Up for sale is this beautiful Royal Worcester jar or covered vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This porcelain jar has gilt decoration and beautiful floral designs; the flowers look like chrysanthemums. This English piece looks to have been made in a Japanese style. It has a melon-like shape with panels; it is footed and it has a vertical lip into which the lid rests. This piece stands approximately 5 5/8 inches tall and it has a maximum diameter of about 4 3/4 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 14.1 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Royal Worcester porcelain. Identification This antique Royal Worcester piece is marked beneath, as shown. It is numbered 112589 and 1312. There is an O mark beneath the crown and circle mark, which I believe dates it to 1889. There are several hand painted marks and also a small impressed mark. Royal Worcester was founded in Worcester, England in 1751. Condition This piece looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has light surface soiling and very minor wear to the gilding.
