The blade is unsigned, shinogi zukuri shape with ken, Sanskrit engravings, muromachi period ca.1500 era made blade (over 400 years old.) The blade is in old full polish, no rust, no stain and in mint condition. The temper line is wavy chusuguba temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no cracks and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood with iron kojiri, no cracks, no dents, no lacquer loss and in mint condition. Handle is tight fit with iron fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is urushi lacquered, no cuts, no loose also in good condition. Tsuba is marugata shape dragon motif gold inlay iron tsuba with nice patina. Menuki is Dragons motif.It measures 27+1/2" tip to the guard, 26+7/8" cutting edge, 1+1/16" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch and 38+1/2" in mountings.
