The dress is made from a beige and black striped twill fabric. It features a classic Edwardian silhouette with elbow length sleeves. The skirt is gathered on one side with decorative buttons. The jacket is partially made of the same silk material as the dress but is contrasted with a rich chocolate brown velvet at the underarms, collar, and left breast plate. Hooks and eyes secure the front of the jacket closed.The history of this spectacular dress has been well preserved through the decades. Overall it is in good antique condition, however there are areas of discoloration as well as pulls in the material. There are not major holes or tears to note, however the front of the dress is safety pinned shut.
