Description: WW1 trench art sculptural piece. I think it was intended as a useful object but I'm not sure what it is meant to be, there is a mangled piece near the bottom that needs repaired. It has some rust patina but otherwise is good. It has several coins attached to it, the newest I spot being 1915 but going back to 1890s. Mostly Greek, Italian and British currency I think. It is etched at the top to say "MONTOFALCONE". I take it this may be a misspelling of the town called Monfalcone, then located at the Austria-Hungary / Italian border and involved in several ww1 engagements such as the 1915 Battle of the Isonzo and the Battle of Caporetto in 1917. Measures 13" tall x 3.5" wide approx. See photos for details.
