Description: Rare antique Crotal/ sleigh bells on original leather strap for horse. 40" inches long from buckle to buckle. Width of strap is 1.25 inches.Bells 1.75" inches diameter and 1.5" inches diameter. Bells on either end dented in but does not interferewith the wonderful full bodied sound. Nice patina on bells. Crotal bells were usually made from bronze but I don't know if they are bronze or brass. A crotal bell is a small, hollow bell or rattle with a pellet inside that vibrates to create sound. They are also known as sleigh bells, pellet bells, rumblers, horse bells, hawk bells, and jingle bells.
