Description: AO American Optical 5 1/2 Gold 57[]20 Bayonet style frame with the original glass lenses. The lenses have some small scratches on them, rating a 8/10, not perfect but useable. They are almost certainly military issue, non-polarized, no logo. The frame has been disassembled, cleaned and straightened. I put them back to as close to factory specifications as I can. For 50 year old sunglasses these rate a solid 8/10, with some yellowing visible in the pictures. The pictures show the condition better than any description ever could . The nose pads have been scrubbed and cleaned, the temple tips have been removed for cleaning(that was a chore). The frame is 5..75” wide. Please use that as a sizing guide, to make sure these will fit your face. Please do that before you bid. AO was the original military aviator sunglass supplier, so this frame is a piece of history. It is 50 years old, though, so do not purchase if you want new. Comes with a snap button case for safe shipping. The temple tips are okay, but you can upgrade to new OEM original for $30. This frame rates 8/10.
