I have been servicing Altec gear for many years and have developed a deep respect toward all Altec equipment, especially tube units. I really do think they sound amazing if properly restored. I have seen many bad quality restorations/fix jobs done to these units that made them sound cheap and very low quality. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I have decided to develop this kit to help you do a great job on your McIntosh.The knowledge that I am going to share with you have been acquired by me over many years serving Altec equipment. Please be patient and let’s get your little birdy sing again. Please do your Altec a favor and replace the most important components that are most likely 90% dead. Power supply caps are those large silver cans mounted on top of the chassis and 1 underneath. This restoration pack will make a huge difference in the sound quality taking into the account everything else works fine. All the parts are of high quality Japanese Nichicon/Panasonic capacitors. I provide several instructions on how to mount those electrolytic caps. The best one is to rebuild those original cans. You will receive a step by step instructions and all the proper caps needed for that. . This technique will keep the original look of the unit. Included in this kit: 1. Power supply stage authentic Japanese Nichicon/Panasonic electrolytic capacitors. 2.
