Description: An unusual vintage (older?) Japanese pot with spout. It's an exquisite thing. The interior of the pot, and spout, has been coated with what appears to be silver. Some other sort of metallic coating perhaps(?). It gives the piece a beautiful sheen. The body is made of pottery/clay. The handle is twined wood. The pot is marked, but I have not been able to find a translation. Please use the eBay magnifier to help in identification. There was never a lid to the piece due to the way the handle is secured to the body of the vessel. It could not have been capped. Also, there is a fingerprint dimple to one side. A potter's trademark? Obviously, I could use a little help with this item. Size from the tip of the spout to the back of the body is just over 5 inches. The body's height is about 3 inches. With the handle, it's 6 inches. It might hold a little over a cup of liquid. Shipping is a flat $18.75 via USPS Ground Advantage with a signature request attached to help prevent mis-delivery or theft. Thank you for understanding. Very carefully wrapped and boxed. I value the things I sell. Finally, if you have a moment, you might want to take a look at the other interesting to rare things I currently have up for sale. Thank you.
