Description: 3 Fritz Heckert iridescent amber hock wine glasses. They are marked with painted F.H. 6339 on the underside of their bases. Ebay user historismus_glas has kindly given me more information on these. Fritz Heckert Glassworks (F.H.) decorated these, using glass blanks obtained from Josephinenhutte - the 6339 is the glass pattern #. This was before Heckert erected their own glass refinery, which enabled them to produce their own glass blanks. The grape vine decoration is based on a #471 decorative pattern. It was designed around 1879-1880 by Oskar Jummel, an architect who was also Heckert's brother in law. The painted gold grapevines and iridescence have wear, some more than others, as do the gold rims. There are some fleabites on the ground bases, but I do not see chips on the rims. The corks in the stems are intact, though they are old and may crumble if disturbed. The glasses measure about 6" tall. Considering that these are earlier than I first thought, I think they have held up well. It is obvious that they were used, rather than just sitting in a display cabinet. Please study the photos carefully, as they are part of the description, and let me know if you need more photos or additional information. If applicable, I am happy to combine shipping. Payment is expected within 3 days of the end of the auction. I usually ship within 1-2 business days, weather and life permitting. Thank you for your business.
