Description: Up for sale is an original 2008 Masters of the Universe Bootleg/Knockoff 3-Pack called ETERNOS (ETERNIA): THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE - HORDE BATTALION (The Horde Army Marches Toward the Royal Palace!) - Exclusively created by Musashi Toys (Tokyo Japan) - Made in Vietnam. This exclusive 3-Pack of 5 1/2" tall action figures that resemble the vintage Masters of the Universe silver HORDE TROOPER figures from 1986 are still in mint condition in its original package, and have never been opened, resealed, or tampered with. Just check out the pictures, and look at the overall beauty that this awesome mint in box (MIB) 16 year old 3-Pack set is! The bright colors on both sides of this vintage-style top flap 3-Pack box set are clear and bright, and the plastic figure window is clear (no evidence of yellowing or tinting) and damage free, but loosened from the inner box glue on the inside of the box packaging. The package corners of this box are sharp and crisp, and shows a hint of a top flap "card wave" only noticeable from the side view. The 3 HORDE TROOPER figures inside are all secure with black plastic ties to the inner cardboard, but the front collapsable chest armor on all 3 figures have dissembled from the 3 figures and resting loosely inside the packaging. This DOES NOT mean the figures are damaged in any way, but rather they just became unattached while in storage. Some paint "frosting" or "crystalizing" may be starting to show on the 3 figures which through time is really plasticizers migrating to the surface of the paint, but is easily corrected by letting the packaged figures rest under sunlight for 15 minutes or so (cool trick I learned online!). This is a MUST HAVE for those serious vintage MOTU collectors that missed out on this hard to find Bootleg/Knockoff 3-Pack from Musashi Toys back in 2008! Final note, I have been the original owner of this HORDE BATTALION 3-Pack set ever since I purchased it 16 years ago at the Chicago Comic-Con from a dealer representing Musashi Toys. According to the packaging, the Troopers of the Horde figure also has normally unpainted details accentuated in black. The staff, in turn, was now black instead of red.A Hordesmen Chase variant was also released. Instead of white, the figure was colored red, while the black details were retained. The Horde coat of arms was also painted black, while the staff was red and could therefore be confused with the Mattel weapon without closer inspection.Horde Captain was absolutely identical to the Hordesmen in terms of modeling. However, the Captain of the Hordesmen featured black armor with red color details. He carried a white version of the staff as a weapon.A Horde Captain Chase variant was also made for this. In this case, the arms and legs were mostly transparent. The eye was red and the rod was also transparent. However, this figure did not appear as a captain, but rather on the Hordesman variant card.The packaging was modeled on the Vintage Masters in shape and size, and was also designed accordingly, from the entire cardback to the logo. The figures also came with a newly produced minicomic entitled Fakors Reprogramming.While the first copies of the Hordesmen and Horde Captain were still appearing in online stores, Musashi's Eternia series was already over. This was done through a lawyer's letter in which Mattel prohibited the sale and demanded that the entire inventory be destroyed.Beyond the troopers, there were also extensive plans for other characters as seen on the backside of the packaging.Due to the legal situation and the fact that these were clearly Master's characters, the Eternia series could not be considered a knockoff series, but was considered an illegal bootleg series and had to be shut down by the creators accordingly.
