19th C. French Empire Gilt Porcelain Lattice Fruit Basket & Underplate 1800-1850

Description: Beautiful early to mid 19th century French Empire porcelain oval centerpiece fruit basket or bowl with underplate c. 1800-1850. The bowl features a lattice design with hand-painted gilt sheaves of wheat motif with sprays of wheat and a gilt rim. Pieces are unmarked. Bowl measures 10 5/8" long x 8 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" high, underplate measures 12" long x 9 1/4" wide: pieces are in Exceptional antique condition free of nicks, dings, fleabites or repairs. All original. Little no no wear to the gilt decoration or rim. This piece was displayed in the main dining room in the center of the table of a luxury estate home in Charleston, SC. We have a large set, originally for 65 people, that we have broken down from a 19th century house in Charleston, South Carolina. A fine addition to any home or collection.
