1984 Los Angeles OLYMPICS LAOOC certificates, set of 10 official.

Description: THE CERTIFICATE TYPE AND THE SIZE THAT APPEAR ON ALL THE CERTIFICATES IN THE PHOTOS ARE SIMPLY INFORMATIONAL RED WATERMARKS ON THE PHOTOS. THE ACTUAL CERTIFICATES DO NOT HAVE THIS PRINTING. A buy-it-now quantity of ONE (1) is for ONE SET OF TEN (10) CERTIFICATES. NOTE: THE 15"x15" ATHLETE CERTIFICATE IS NOT SHOWN AND IT IS NOT INCLUDED, IT CAN BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY IN ANOTHER LISTING. This auction is for a set of TEN (10) official 1984 LAOOC (Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee) certificates that were presented to participants in the 1984 Olympic games. THESE CERTIFICATES WERE NEVER AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. All 1984 Olympic Games award medals, diplomas and certificates were produced by Jostens. All certificates are printed on cream-colored heavy tagboard with a foil-embossed Star-In-Motion and Olympic Rings. Some of the certificates in the photos appear to be different shades (lighter or darker), this was only the lighting - they are identical. Included in the set is an actual Athlete certificate. All certificates in every set are MINT condition and blank. This means that these have never been presented to anyone and do not have names on them. A name would normally be printed or calligraphied on each certificate. These are all from my personal collection and they have been in my possession since the 1984 Olympic games. For the last 35 years, all certificates have been stored flat, wrapped in plastic, in closed boxes to keep out light, bugs, and moisture . There are no folds, creases, tears, stains, fading or odors in any of the certificates except the Security Officer Training certificate which has a few creases in the upper left corner. THE OPENING CEREMONIES, 10" x 12". Presented to all participants in the Olympic Games opening ceremony at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Signed by Paul Ziffren, Peter V. Ueberroth, Harry L. Usher and David L. Wolper. SECURITY OFFICER TRAINING, 10" x 12". Presented to all the security guards. Signed by Paul Ziffren, Peter V. Ueberroth and Harry L. Usher. THE 1984 OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY, 10" x 12". Presented to all participants and torch bearers in the Olympic Torch relay. The runners' name was calligraphied on the top of the certificate before it was presented. Signed by Paul Ziffren, Peter V. Ueberroth and Harry L. Usher. GREEK TORCH RUN, 10" x 12". This certificate was supposed to be presented to each participant in the Greek Torch run. The traditional torch relay by Greek athletes from Olympia to Athens, Greece, was cancelled and hence this is a very rare certificate. LICENSEE, 8.5" x 10.75". Individually numbered with gold foil-embossed Star-In-Motion seal. This certificate was issued, complete with serial number, to each official licensee of the games. A licensee was a company or individual "licensed" by the LAOOC to produce official products. There were only 65 total official licensees. These certificates were printed before the total number of licensees was determined. TRAINING AND COMPETITION FACILITIES, 5-7/8" x 9-3/4". This is a sticker printed on glossy paper with an adhesive back that has peel-away paper backing. This was presented to facilities which hosted practice or competition for the olympics. Because of limited availability, the Athlete Certificate is no longer included with this set and the price has been lowered. The Athlete Certificate can be purchased separately in another listing. If both this set and the Athlete Certificate are purchased, shipping will be combined. Just select LOCAL PICKUP for the Athlete Certificate purchase. TERMS: International sales are permitted but the payment will only be with Paypal. I will accept bids from both U.S. and foreign bidders. Any bids from bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks will be cancelled unless I am contacted first. Payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the auction.
