Overall, this bayonet is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. The press catch is functional with average spring tension. Both the pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They have handling marks and light superficial oxidation, plus their finish has been parkerized. The screws securely fasten the checkered grip panels. They have light tool marks. The grips are distinct with a few handling marks and scuffs. The spine and sides have light handling marks and scuffs, but no notable unusual wear. The scabbard is very tight and rubs on the sides of the bayonet. The blade has no nicks or dings and it appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The finish has been parkerized. The top of the guard is marked "U.S.M7 / ONTARIO". The plastic scabbard is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. The belt hook hanger is securely attached, rotates freely and has its original configuration. The finish still remains. The canvas frog belt hoop is functional. There are no rips or tears and the stitching is sewn tightly. The retaining strap is securely fastened and the snap is functional. The metal hardware has no oxidation. The metal locket is securely fastened to the plastic body, it has been parkerized. The plastic body has some handling marks and scuffs. Some of the finish has come off. The bayonet is hard to get in and out of the scabbard. There are no visible markings. This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your bayonet collection.
