Description: 1972 Press Photo Firemen at the site of an explosion at Esplanade apartments This is an original press photo. Firemen probe the site of an explosion Monday where the Park Esplanade apartment complex is being constructed at Esplanade Avenue and Moss Street. No one was injured in the blast, which centered around a large heated tank of tar which was being used in roof construction. Firemen said a leak in the butane gas heating system apparently caused one of the butane tanks to explode. Firemen extinguished the burning tar pot minutes after they arrived. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 06-13-1972.
