The coin depicts the Power Station associated with the Aswan High Dam and commemorates the fact that on January 9, 1968 the power station started generating electric power. The coin is labeled (Al Gomhouriah al-Arabiah al-Mutahida) United Arab Republic as opposed to Arab Republic of Egypt. The coin was minted when Egypt and Syria where united into a confederation. It is KM-415 and weighs 25 grams of 0.72 silver. It measures approximately 40 mm in diameter. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. The coin is great looking and shows beautiful details over nice clear fields. The coin shows some light soiling and imbedded soiling especially along the edges. It also has some light scratches and minor bag marks, but these are minimal. The coin is much better than the photos suggest with truly residual luster.
