Description: 1950'S Jefferson Proving Ground Workers Jacket Rare!Purchased at estate sale of WWII vet who relisted after the war and ended up at Jefferson Proving Grounds per his daughter. She said he worked there from the 50's into the 60's and ultimately retiring from the military and moving to Wisconsin with his family. The jacket is a Medium but really long in length but short in the sleeve for me, I'm a large tall so I need longer sleeves. The sleeve are 3 inches to short for me. So someone who is does not have long arms, it would fit them fine probably. Again, I can't stress enough how long this is, it comes to just above my knees and I am 6 foot.Armpit to armpit is 24" Has an inside breast pocket. As shown on the tag this is flame retardant. For whatever reason the previous owner's was crossed of and his name was put on their instead, maybe there were short on jackets there. Unfortunately I do not know what department he worked in, but the building number is on there, so maybe you can figure it out. Google the internet for Jefferson Proving Ground and there is a lot to learn. I suspect finding something like this is about as rare as hens teeth. Add to your collection, use in your museum, wear it. Maybe you had a relative work there. I suspect if you wear it in public you'd get a lot questions. I've seen none on ebay or on the internet, how rare they are they? See my feedback See my other items Shipping to US and Puerto Rico
