Description: GUADALCANAL DIARY by Richard Tregaskis 1943 First Printing complete with photo section This is a nice used 1943 First Printing of GUADALCANAL DIARY by war correspondent Richard Tregaskis who was embedded with the 1st Marine Division during the 1942 Guadalcanal campaign, the first major American Pacific campaign in World War II. The 5-½ x 8-¼ inch, 264 page hardcover book was published by Random House in New York. The end papers are maps of Guadalcanal , Tulagi and Florida Islands (front) and the Solomon Islands and New Guinea (back). Our photos show the actual green linen World War II book with the USMC device on the front cover we offer for sale. It is in nice used condition, complete with the glossy photo section between pages 136 and 137. The name of a previous owner is written in pencil on the front fly leaf. No odor.
