There are no ads for the Hardy Boys at the back of the book. It is a little later printing with “sorry” (from soorry) corrected on page 27. Also Tom Swift series list is 1-29, but is the second ad at the back of the book. DESCRIPTION: 212 pages + 8 pages publisher’s ads in back 7 5/8 x 5 1/4 inches first edition, later printing hardcover CONDITION: This hard-cover book is in fair condition; there is no dust jacket. The red cloth hardcover is soiled and has a boy’s name on the front board. The spine ends are torn and frayed and the corners are worn. I’m guessing Jay (the boy’s name on the cover and front endpaper) had some anger issues because he stabbed the book about 3 times with his pocket knife through from page 110 to 92. The paper is holed and torn on all the pages in-between. Most of the paper is there if you wanted to attempt repair. This is the worst problem with the book as it would probably rate a “Good” otherwise. Other pages are mostly clean with occasional light smudging. The paper is slightly toned with age. The hinges are good, but the binding is cracked at the title page and age 204. The binding is still holding well and there are no loose or missing pages.
