Description: This 16 page guide from 1925 opens with a quote from Joseph Howe. “A wise nation preserves its records, gathers up its muniments, decorates the tombs of its illustrious dead, repairs its great public structures and fosters national pride and love of country, by perpetual reference to the sacrifices and glories of the past.” Before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, a thriving village stood on the shores of Port Royal. The territory changed hands 6 times between its founding and 1710 when Nicholson took possession of the area and changed the name to Annapolis Royal in honor of Queen Anne. After summarizing the history of the area, the booklet describes the sites along the visitor path. There are several illustrations and a foldout map of the region. The paper cover is spotted and soiled but the inside is in very good condition with only slight yellowing suggesting the nearly 100 year age of the guide. 7.5 X 5.3 inches. Shipping is free in the continental US.
