Description: 1906-dated advertising token in the shape and design of the famous 1850's California Gold Slugs produced by the United States Assay Office in San Francisco. Jankovsky-906, Gem Uncirculated, certified NGC MS-66, the second finest certified (one MS-67 higher). The Thompson "slugs" are fairly frequently encountered however not in Gem BU - the brass plating used on these to simulate "gold" did not seem to hold up well. Difficult to price, as few if any comps to go by. The average Uncirculated grade seems to be about MS-63; certified or raw these trade around $150. The sole NGC MS-65 example sold for $225 in 2019, which seems cheap; the MS-67 has apparently never traded publicly. I could not confirm any specimens at PCGS. My price is therefor speculative and based upon someone wanting the (almost) "best", with a Make an Offer option added. Just be polite please. This will be shipped Insured with Signature required, hence the S&H shown.
