Description: A complete run of all 13 issues of The Yellow Book, An Illustrated Quarterly, April 1894 - April 1897. The Yellow Book An Illustrated Quarterly Volume I April 1894, through Volume XIII April 1897. London: Elkin Matthews & John Lane 1894-1897 First Edition, Mixed States. Vol 1 is First Issue with adverts in the rear, the remaining 12 Volumes are Second Issue without adverts. Thirteen octavos, bound in the original pictorial yellow cloth covered boards. Illustrated throughout in black and white. Some edges remain unopened. Twelve of the volumes have a removable protective mylar jacket. Some slight rubbing and wear, some scattered foxing and discoloration, else in very good condition. The Yellow Book was a pioneering literary and artistic periodical published between 1894 and 1897, recognized for its bold aesthetics and association with the Aesthetic and Decadent movements. Featuring striking covers by Aubrey Beardsley, who served as its first art editor, the magazine became a symbol of avant-garde expression in late Victorian Britain.
