Description: This is an authentic antique book plate taken from an 1850s publication titled Explorations and Surveys for a Railroad Route from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean, Vol. X, possibly prepared by the War Department. The book was missing several sections and had loose pages. The plate measures slightly over 8-1/2" by 11". The plate may have discoloration along the edges, some foxing, smudges and other marks. The bird's scientific name was written in pencil on the plate. It has a normal odor.
